State budget: the 20,000-foot view

Sometimes in politics you get so bogged down in specifics that you miss the big picture.

But thanks to Comptroller Glen Hegar's competent staff, we have a handy chart with infographics that puts things into a sobering perspective. This is based on his "budget certification," which is required by the Texas Constitution before it can be approved by the Legislature.
