Austin-based Yeti ices Breitbart ad after one person tweets 'hate'

We can all agree lately that overreaction to allegations of hate on either side of the political spectrum is getting out of hand. Sometimes you just want to pack your Yeti cooler and head out to the lake for a few days to get away from all the bickeri ...

Oh wait ...

Yeti's Twitter account goes on to explain: "Those ads are not bought from Breitbart, they are coming from personal Facebook accounts &will display on websites within Facebook's network" (whatever that means). You'd think that something as basic as keeping ice from melting would be an issue all sides can agree to. Yet here we are.

Admittedly, Breitbart isn't exactly known as a paragon of modesty when it comes to its presentation of the facts, but they're far from being a "hate group." Proof that Breitbart is indeed a supporter of racist ideology may be as scant as evidence of the Himalayan snow creature for which the cooler company is whimsically named.

Until Yeti wakes up from its hibernation (one can imagine how much their South Congress headquarters real estate is worth on the Austin and Travis County tax rolls -- maybe they'll be conservatives before too long) we'll happily suggest that Austin-area conservatives take their twice-insulated-vacuum-sealed-iced-and-perishable-goods-containment needs elsewhere. We found a link containing some alternatives for the conscious consumer who simply wants to keep their ice cool in the searing August heat and doesn't want to contribute to the trivial back-and-forth that's tearing our country (or at least Twitter) apart.
