Newly elected Travis County GOP Secretary Lauren Day took part of a Voter Summit on FOX News' show "The Kelly File."
Day, an Austin native, asked Sen. Ted Cruz whether he would pardon David Daleiden, who was recently indicted in Houston for his role in the Center for Medical Progress expose videos of Planned Parenthood practices such as fetal tissue marketing.
"The answer is yes," Cruz replied. "... I think he performed an incredible public service and I'll tell you this: I've pledged if I'm elected president, on the very first day in office, I intend to instruct the U.S. Department of Justice to open an investigation into Planned Parenthood and to prosecute any and all criminal conduct by that organization."

Rosemary Graber, a campaign staffer for Texas Supreme Court candidate Rick Green, was selected to ask John Kasich which founding father he looks up to the most. Kasich answered George Washington.
"I love George Washington because he didn't want to be king," Kasich said. "You know, he had a chance to be in forever. And George Washington went, did his work, and then he'd go away ... I'm sort of a believer that you don't make a whole lifetime in government."
According to the transcript, Sarah Douglas, a student from the University of Texas, asked Ben Carson to "explain to college students how conservative economic policies would be much better for their futures than policies that are very liberal, like Bernie Sanders."
"Well, I would help them understand what socialism really is," Carson said, according to the transcript. "I think many young people today think that socialism is being concerned about social issues. And of course that's not what it is. It's a utopian dream where the government takes care of you from cradle to grave. You never have anything to worry about. That is the goal. That is the ideal. They all end up looking exactly the same with a small group of elites at the top who control everything, a rapidly diminishing middle class, and a vastly expanded dependent class."
